Traveling to Disney World will soon get a lot easier!
Brightline, the upcoming high-speed train, will transport guests from South Florida all the way to Orlando. The route will be extended to Tampa and have a stop added to Disney World once construction of the first phase is completed. We now have a potential timeline for the Disney World connection!
It was confirmed in November that Brightline will make a stop at Disney Springs. This means state locals traveling from South Florida will be able to travel swiftly to Disney World in no time. It also means visitors arriving at the Orlando International Airport can use the train and head straight to Springs. According to the Orlando Business Journal, the train will start revenue service during the second half of 2023!
Construction has already started on the tracks between South Florida and Orlando. Brightline is on track to complete the first expansion from West Palm Beach to the Orlando Airport in late 2022.
The exact location for the stop in Disney Springs is undetermined at this time. We’ll keep you informed on any news regarding the highly anticipated high-speed train!

Doesn’t Disney have a system where, when staying at a Disney resort hotel, you can get special tags on your luggage that checks through your luggage from the airport to the hotel? If so, you could go from your arrival gate to the Brightline, get off at Disney Springs, have a meal, then take a bus to your hotel.
Love this idea but Disney really needs to be working on a plan to handle incoming guests from MCO with their luggage in tow. If they “dump” arriving guests with their luggage anywhere around Disney Springs as it is now, it will be a huge mess. When I read “brightline to have a stop at Disney Springs”, I imagine a convenient hop off with access to the shopping district. This type of stop will not work with arriving guests with luggage presumably trying to connect with a resort bus for check in. Surely there is more in the works than what it appears to be. My big wish would be that this is so successful that Brightline heads north to Atlanta and on to my hometown area of Nashville. Sadly, Amtrak runs too far to the East to be an alternative for us.

I’d love the train, but I’d like the free buses more.
I wonder how often the train will operate from MCO to Disney Springs? Clearly Disney could use this method to transport people from MCO to Disney Springs and then buses to your resort. Would only work if trains operate like every hour.
