You Might Be Breaking These 4 Disney World Hotel Rules Without Even Knowing

For many guests, Walt Disney World’s hotels provide the ultimate respite from the hustle and bustle of the resort’s theme parks. However, sometimes that feeling of relaxation can lead to some inadvertent mistakes.

There are countless Disney World hotel rules, some of which guests break, often inadvertently.

Balloons at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Unlike Walt Disney World’s other three theme parks, Animal Kingdom has a strict prohibition on balloons, given the danger they potentially pose to animals. That extends to the park’s corresponding Animal Kingdom Lodge, which means that guests staying there can’t bring balloons back from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or Hollywood Studios.

Pool Hopping

In general, pool hopping is NOT allowed at Walt Disney World. Now, there are a couple of slight exceptions (for example, guests staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort can use the pool at Bay Lake Tower, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can use the Cove Pool over at Island Tower and vice versa to both) but in general guests are ONLY allowed to use the pools at hotels they’re registered at. This includes Disney resorts that are close together like Pop Century or Art of Animation, or those connected by the Skyliner or Monorail.

Smoking or Vaping ONLY in Designated Areas

So, this one may seem obvious, but smoking – – whether traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, or etc. – – is ONLY allowed in designated areas at Walt Disney World resorts, and most spaces (including guest rooms) are non-smoking.

Check Out Time!

Finally, Disney World’s checkout policy is relatively strict, with guests expected to be out of their rooms by 11 AM. So if you’re running late on your checkout morning, be forewarned that Disney may be knocking at your door as soon as the clock strikes 11.
