This is NOT a drill — Epic Universe is officially opening its portals THIS WEEK! It feels like we have been waiting forever. So grab your wands, train your dragon, and level up — because the time has finally come!
Technically, we have been getting the opportunity to get into the park for some preview dates. However, nothing hits the same as the official opening day! Universal has just announced information on what opening day will look like, and we have all the details. So let’s a-go!
On May 22nd, those with tickets can enter the portals, and step into the five immersive worlds of: Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. This will be an experience you have guaranteed not gotten from anywhere else.
Universal posted some details to make sure you’re making the most of your Epic day, ensuring that the experience is truly unforgettable. If you have a ticket for Epic Universe’s opening day, you’re invited to a short celebratory moment, as the portals are opened to worlds you’ve never seen before. This will start at 8:00 AM on Thursday, May 22.
The park hours for Epic Universe are 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM! So, plan accordingly for a long day in the hot sun. We’ve noted before that there isn’t a lot of shade, so be prepared. Also, it might be smart to put together a schedule, prioritizing everything you want to get done in the time window — it’s going to be BUSY!
The Epic Universe parking lot and ride-share drop-off will be open at 6:00 AM.
Shuttle Buses from all Universal Orlando Resort Hotels to Epic Universe will also begin at 6:00 AM. It might be smart to get there as soon as possible — if you get there when the park opens, it may take you a long time to get inside, using up valuable park time!
The turnstiles at both the Chronos front entrance and the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel, dedicated entrance, will open at 7:00 AM.
We hate to say it, but expect large crowds and long wait times. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry has been using virtual lines over the course of the preview dates. Then it switched over to standby, and the wait time for the ride went up to as high as 300 minutes!Â
We currently don’t know what Universal’s plans are for virtual queue on opening day. We should be hearing something very soon on whether or not the ride will feature a virtual or a standby queue. This could impact your day, so we’re going to keep an eye out for you!
