NEWS: Renée Victor, ‘Coco’ and ‘Skyrim’ Actress, Has Passed Away

Renée Victor, the voice actor for Abuelita in Disney’s Coco, has passed away.

According to Variety, Renée Victor’s representative confirmed the news of her passing on June 1st.

In addition to being known for her role as Abuelita, she also portrayed Lupita on the Showtime drama Weeds.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Renée Victor moved to Los Angeles to begin her entertainment career in the 1960s. She began her career as a singer for popular music acts, taught salsa and tango, and even toured with her husband from 1963 to 1973 under the name “Ray & Renée.”

She joined the Screen Actors Guild in 1973, and some of her other voice acting work has been heard in the “Elder Scrolls” video games, 2011’s “Skyrim,” and the recently released Oblivion Remastered. We send our love and deepest condolences to her family and friends.
