Tickets for Disneyland Resort‘s Oogie Boogie Bash are a HOT commodity — and for good reason! This Halloween event is a must-do for Disney fans, and if you’ve been considering a visit, let this be your sign to start planning your trip!

This is one of the most popular events, if not THE most popular event, in Disneyland each year, which means that there’s a lot of planning you’ll want to do to ensure you have a successful and fun time. Don’t worry; it’s not as hard as it sounds, because we’re here to help — here are some unspoken rules you NEED to follow during the event to ensure you have the best time!
Buy Those Tickets EARLY
Tickets go on sale for the general public on June 26th, and Magic Key holders can get them as early as June 24th (for Inspire Key holders) or June 25th (all other Magic Key holders). We highly recommend grabbing your tickets as early as possible.

The date(s) you’re looking for could sell out in the time it takes for you to double-check your schedule and come back a few hours later. Know in advance when you’re able to go (the more options for dates, the better), and the moment you can get online to snag your tickets, DO IT! We often see dates sell out within hours of going on sale, and we don’t want you to miss out.
Take Advantage of How EARLY You Can Get In
Once you’ve purchased your party ticket, you’ll notice that the party hours are 6–11 PM. HOWEVER, you can get into the park as early as 3 PM without needing any additional park ticket, and our advice? USE THAT TIME!

Use this time to take some PhotoPass photos in your costume while it’s still light outside, go on some rides you may not want to focus on later in the night, or eat a solid meal BEFORE the party starts, because not all restaurants are open during the event. As much as you want to, you can’t survive the night on just candy and sweets (although we wish that were the case!).
Take FULL Advantage of Those Treat Trails
Speaking of candy, the Treat Trails around the park aren’t just home to handfuls of candy — they’re also where you can meet some iconic characters you don’t often get to see!

Not only that, you can travel through these trails as many times as you’d like, so not only can you see the villains over and over, but you can ALSO get as much candy as your heart desires! When you’ve paid as much as you have for a ticket, we even recommend bringing a larger bag with you (totally allowed) to fill with candy, because the bags you’re given are relatively small.
Get Ready For A LATE Night
While Oogie Boogie Bash doesn’t go as late as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party over in Disney World, it still can be a late night for kiddos. Plan ahead — take naps during the day, or at least rest in your hotel room instead of spending a whole day in the parks, then stay up late for the party.

However, there’s a balancing act to this — if you’ve got young kiddos with you OR anyone in your party who gets grumpy when they’re tired, don’t ruin the whole night by forcing someone to stay up later than they’re prepared to. It’s great to use up the entire party time so the cost of your ticket gets put to good use, but not if it means everyone ends up in a bad mood!
Don’t Let The Parade Sneak By You!
One of the most anticipated parts of the night is the Frightfully Fun Parade, which travels through the park and lets you see some of your favorite (and sometimes rare) characters in their Halloween attire.

We absolutely recommend grabbing a spot for this parade EARLY if seeing it is important to you. It fills up FAST along the parade route, so check your party map for showtimes, and get ready to find a spot at least half an hour ahead of time to be safe.

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
We’ll be in attendance at Oogie Boogie Bash this year to bring you all the most up-to-date information and tips from on the ground, and we’re just as excited as you are. We’ll be here to cover all the latest and greatest spooky season news across both coasts, so stay tuned to AllEars!
